Not what I expected
Dr. Travis is sharing his wealth of knowledge and years of experience in an accessible way to help people help themselves. Now that this program is in print a person can return to any section that is desired to review, re-train, and utilize the suggestions included in the text. Thank you Dr. Travis.
If you are looking to find practical information about meditation and the use of the imagination, this book is for you. The author does a wonderful job of walking you through "guided imagery". I hope there is an audiobook for this book. It was great.
This is a really good book and true to title. Guided Imagery first explains the basics of exactly what is guided imagery. It includes, how to instruction, scripts and affirmation suggestions that you can use, if you don't have any of your own. This is a guide book takes the reader by the hand and offers step by step directions. Excellent for relaxation and stress reduction.
So totally enjoyed this!! Great tool to help you empower yourself in achieving personal goals. It's amazing how relaxed you become but energized at the same time. But together that changes the way you approach life! You also reap the benefit of how your refreshed outlook changes the reactions of others around you too. This guide gives you the tools to be able to do this whenever needed. Keeps you very centered. Gives you license to harness your own power. You feel strong! Awesome, awesome, awesome!
I have a friend who did guided imagery with me years ago. It's a wonderful skill to help people turn off all the outside noise. Dr. Richard Travis gives a bird's eye view of how the process works from someone who has been leading people deeper into themselves for many years. It's not whoo whoo and airy fairy. It's facts on how to get the body and mind to relax and turn on the inner mechanisms we all have for real and true healing on every level.
